Network Marketing Business – How To Break Down The Barriers With Your Prospects
One of the most misunderstood aspects about prospecting in your MLM home business is following up with a prospect once they enter your sales funnel.
Did you know that many network marketers are taught that some will and some won’t and to simply move on. It’s one of the anomalies about being true to an upline and following all the advice they give. This type of advice can cost you big time.
Why?
Simply because it could cost you a Diamond Director or two and a lot of money. The follow up is vital in any MLM home business because the same sales principles apply. Most people won’t buy on the first look. In other words, very few people will actually join an MLM business on the first approach.
In fact, more than 80% will hold off until at least the fifth follow up so to be told that some will and some won’t is a little reckless. The only time there is any credence to a statement like this is when you are told to never contact someone again and the person makes it clear they are not interested.
Most times this will dent a network marketer’s confidence but that’s something you really don’t have to worry about anymore. That was something common with old school network marketing but today, the landscape has changed and instead of being told face-to-face or over the phone to please remove someone from your contacts list, now all a person has to do is hit the unsubscribe button.
Following up with a prospect also requires some tact. The last thing you want to do is blast someone’s email account with sales pitch after sales pitch. Most times, your email will get directed to the spam folder and lost.
Using a series of emails with a strong emphasis on education and training will get you and your MLM home business positive reaction on most occasions. It will help break down the barriers between your prospect and you. If they genuinely believe you’re sincere about your intentions to help them they’ll soon let you know.
By educating them and offering valuable training tips you are both creating a relationship with them and eliminating any desire they may have to unsubscribe from your emails. In fact, by providing great information without any sales pitch involved, many will actually consider it a cost to themselves to remove themselves from your list.
So don’t get discouraged when you don’t get a response the first time you make contact with a prospect. The truth is, you are actually “under the microscope” as a potential mentor so don’t blow it with a barrage of sales pitches.
