It sure looks like many people are making mistakes regarding the businesses they are getting involved with and what it takes to successfully market them.

There are many business opportunities out there and people are pouring into them like crazy. Some of these opportunities are with companies that have been around for quite a while and are solid, proven winners. If you are one of those people that picked a good business opportunity I am ecstatic for you.

But to my dismay, there are many companies out there that are pretty shaky deals. They guarantee you instant treasures – all you have to do is become a member for them, pay your monthly fees, and then you can sit back and rake in the cash. Mistaken, this is not how it works.

The fact is, there is a giant failure rate among associates trying to start a booming home based internet or network marketing enterprise. Close to 95% of the individuals that join these online business, whether they are reputable companies or one of the fly-by-night instant get rich schemes, will fail at making enough money to stay in business.

Assuming you picked a stable business opportunity there is one crucial fact to consider if you want to be among the doing well.

You have to understand the marketing it takes to make your business successful. If you don’t know how to market you will most likely fail.

And, you need to understand the most important piece about marketing and that is the creation of leads.

You must have leads so that you can transform those leads into sales and/or enlist them into your business. The sad part is that most network and Internet marketers fail in the most essential part of their marketing – lead generation. And the plain reason is usually because they do not know how to market as it should be. But you can with no trouble change that and get the expertise you need.

The most important piece of the map is at the middle – the lead capture page. The lead capture page is fundamental to your marketing and once you discover how to do all the various types of marketing they all point back to one factor – and that is your lead capture page.

No matter what kind of marketing you are doing, whether it’s Facebook, MySpace, Adwords, Forums, Blogging, etc., all of that traffic needs to be targeted to get to your lead capture pages.

To reiterate, all of your marketing needs to convey all of your traffic to your lead capture page.

Basically, the idea is for you to get on your way marketing using any or a blend of traffic generation – lead generation techniques. Then your marketing efforts will guide people to your lead capture page and then you can transform that lead into a buying client and/or a prospect to join your enterprise.

If all you’re doing is advertising your business, and not capturing leads, you are doing your self a wrong. You must capture the leads and build relationships with the people whose names you collect.

Now when you learn how to market appropriately, you will learn how to perfect these numerous marketing strategies. You do NOT need to perfect them all so don’t get frightened by how many types of traffic marketing there are. Some very profitable network marketers only use 1 or 2 of these tactics, but they focus on them, get skillful at them, and they take action with them.

You can make use of things like MySpace and Facebook to draw traffic to your lead capture page. You can utilize article submission or blogging to establish yourself as an authority and get traffic to your lead capture page that way. You can also run advertisements on other people’s ad sites or use Pay Per Click advertising to get traffic to your leads capture page. Pick one to begin.

Your lead capture page becomes the entry point into your marketing retention and follow up practice, because the traffic that you capture there goes into your Autoresponder.

All the names go into YOUR autoresponder. This is because you need to build up a list of your own clientele and prospects. This is a vital point, because in the preponderance of internet business out there, all of your efforts go to building a customer list for the company, NOT you!

You need to be doing this no matter what business you are in, whether it’s Acai Berry, Market America, Avon, etc. You need to get the traffic to your squeeze so that you can capture the lead.

The autoresponder becomes your email director, your marketing follow-up system and your client retention system.

By running an autoresponder you can stay in touch with your prospects and over time they will be encouraged to either acquire products from you, enter your business (if you are network marketing) or be converted into resellers (if you are in affiliate marketing).

Use the email messages you send via your autoresponder list to help your contacts. After all, they wouldn’t have opted in for your list if they didn’t think you had something to provide them. So don’t disillusion them. Give them gratis things, give them instruction, coach them, and indirectly sell them on your business or products. Give away them marketing training and show them how they can be doing well with the products you are selling or if they join your business. Under promise and Over deliver!

You can actually earn an income from this. We’ve set ourselves up with products and services so that we can bring in wealth even if people don’t join our business. This is because we have built a list of names that we are building relationships with.

So keep in mind, no traffic – no leads, and with no leads you can’t keep your business profitable.

If you are already operating a business, you need to create a training curriculum so that you can put forward even more to your catalog of people. If you have yet to join a business you need to research a company that gives you with the right kind of marketing instruction. A good training series should show people how to set up their squeeze pages and autoresponder and instruct them on which types of traffic marketing will work best for them.

Bear in mind, you don’t have to use all the numerous types of marketing to catch traffic. You can use the various tactics alone. The important thing is to use at least one of them, get skillful at it and stick with it.

So don’t waste any more time. Start doing things the right way and get the marketing training you need.
