MLM – Presenting the Opportunity
MLM – Presenting the Opportunity
Ah, so you have made it to the presentation part of the MLM opportunity. What do you do? How do you present the opportunity to interested parties? After all, you are probably just as new at this as the prospect you want to pitch it to. Do you do a three way call with your sponsor ? Do you arrange a time to come around to the prospects house so you can sit down together and have a nice cup of coffee and discuss why your opportunity is brilliant for them ? No, you don’t do any of that. In the OLD days, you would have but this is not them and it’s all different now.
In reality, you shouldn’t be presenting any opportunity to your prospects UNTIL you have established a rapport with them. Imagine some stranger coming up to you in the street and saying .. “hey, listen Joe, I have this great opportunity you would be interested in. Just come back to my place and we will go through the details … you’re going to love it. Would you go back or even give this person any time at all, sure you might if you want to be polite but straight away you have your back up and are very wary of them and it is extremely unlikely you are going to do any business with them. On the other hand if this person met you, asked you out for coffee or a drink and generally got to know a bit about you so that you both felt comfortable with each other and then arranged another time to get together to discuss some business you would be much more inclined to at least give them the time to listen. This is very similar to the way you need to at least get an audience that is receptive to what you are presenting in the MLM world.
The presenting of the opportunity nowadays is typically using technology. It is not sitting down at a house meeting and discussing it with your prospects. It is all automated and typically via a web presentation. That being said, it doesn’t mean you should just go out and get as much traffic as you possibly can to your website so some of them will look at your opportunity and possibly join. Sure this would probably work but you would need a huge amount of traffic for it to be viable using this method. It is the same in the online world as it is in the offline world. You still need to establish a rapport with the prospect before you send them off to look at your opportunity. You will have much better success if you first of all find out a bit about your prospect and give them what they are looking for immediately without introducing them to you opportunity. When they get to know a bit about you and learn to establish some trust with you they are much more likely to want to join you in a business venture. You will have a much better chance of attracting and maintaining a very healthy MLM business when you first of all attract prospects that can identify with you and want to join your business. The presenting of the opportunity should be one of the last things you do not as it is mistakenly done with many people as one of the first things that is done.
Until next time…
