How To Motivate Your MLM Downlines Without Having to Keep An Eye On Them Every Moment
Motivating downlines is one of the most crucial tasks of an upline in the Network Marketing/MLM industry. Success follows the upline who can motivate their downlines to act and produce results for themselves, effectively earning the upline big commissions.
On the flip side, motivating downlines is also one of the most unpredictable and time-consuming tasks of an upline. It’s unpredictable because downlines are unpredictable. Downlines also have different circumstances that an upline should consider. It’s also time-consuming because downlines, especially when new, need a lot of attention from the upline.
This article shows you the proper way to motivate your downlines so that you don’t have to keep an eye on them every moment. Once you followed these simple steps, your downlines would keep moving and produce results automatically. The process starts from the beginning even before the sign-up and takes 3 simple steps. These are the set-up, the conditioning, and the lifeline.
STEP1: The set-up happens even before you sign-up your prospective downline. When you present your business to prospects, it’s also the time that you brief the prospect on what to expect once he or she joins. More specifically, you tell them what they would be doing when they join the company. Make X number of calls a day, sell X amount of products, or invite their friends, family, etc. Tell the downline every activity that he or she would be doing once he or she decides to join.
The effect of this is that the downline joins prepared to do whatever he or she needs to do. If from the start the prospect declined to join because of the work involved, then you just did both of you a service. It is best that you never work with these prospects; they would simply drag you and your organization down.
STEP2: After you did the correct set-up and the downline comes prepared when he or she joins your organization, you need to do the conditioning. Conditioning is like training on steroids. That is, you train them AND make them believe that they can achieve success by themselves. You do this at the same time.
Conditioning involves training the downline in the area of MLM wherein they have the highest chance of success immediately. It should take minimal skill at the onset and the chances of success are high. In that case, the downline would immediately feel a sense of confidence when he is achieving results.
In MLM, there is no other area which requires minimal skill and has higher chance of success than selling products. Yes, selling the company’s products.
Think about it, which has a higher rate of success? Selling products or selling the opportunity? To which do customers respond more? The products or joining the company? Which takes more skill? Showing the products or presenting the company? The comparisons are limitless and the answers are obvious. Selling products is definitely easier than prospecting and presenting the business.
So teach your newfound downlines to sell products first. They would have higher chances of piling success than any other activity. Again, selling products is easier than presenting the opportunity. Once the downlines find that achieving success is “easy”, they would continue doing them even without you.
STEP3: If you’re downline is set-up correctly, and he or she has been conditioned effectively, then all you need to do is open the lifeline. It’s a given, there are unexpected things that may happen during the course of your downline’s activities. During this time, your downlines require your attention. These are the times that you give the lifeline (from the game show, “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”).
Nobody wants pesky and whining downlines. They aren’t productive and they drain your energy. As such, you should make the terms of your lifeline clear to your downline. Meaning you should clearly say to them the cases when they can reach you for help.
Do this politely of course; you can do that by commending them for their successes (from the conditioning stage). You tell them that they are becoming more and more independent each time. What you do next is tell them about an expected challenge that they might face eventually. Example is while selling, they might come across with a customer that’s more knowledgeable than them. You tell them that when they encounter this specific problem, they can call you. Otherwise, everything else can be handled by the downline.
You would be surprised how this works out nicely. Downlines would tend find solutions to problems (other than that specific problem you told them) on their own. Downlines just need a feeling that they can do it by themselves but you are there for them just in case. Try it, it works wonders.
Now you have completed the steps, you can be rest assured that your downlines would be kept motivated, even if you don’t keep an eye on them. In some cases, they even get irritated if you keep poking with their affairs. That’s really a good thing, they become independent immediately.
There’s actually an emerging development in the Network Marketing/MLM industry. The steps you just learned becomes more important now than it has ever been. You can download a FREE report by visiting http://www.mlmpowerandprofits.com
