Two MLM and Network Marketing Traits You Cannot Afford To Be Without
Leadership in MLM and Network Marketing is more than your paycheck size, your pin level, or even your ability to recruit. Sure, these are characteristics of people we refer to as “leaders” in our respective companies; but reality is, there are traits to being an effective leader we should all strive to master.
There have always been two attributes that set apart the leaders from the recruiters/money earners. These are the two most important things to remember as someone building and leading a Network Marketing or MLM team:
Integrity
Remember, your Integrity is always showing. As a leader, people are watching you, listening to you, and trying to gleam a nugget of wisdom from everything you do. If you act with integrity, your organization will take note of it. I am not saying that a bad apple will not come along; but it is best that the bad apple is recruited as a bad apple and not developed into one!
If you act without integrity in the actions used to build your business, people will notice or try to replicate it. You will build a house of cards, and one strong wind will blow it all down. Build with integrity and others will follow.
Knowing the Right and the Wrong
Several years ago, there was a clash of my leadership position with another one (not MLM related). As the scenario played out, the other leader made it clear, under no uncertain terms, that their need was greater than the need I represented in my position. Even worse is the fact that they did it in a public place with the “matter-of-fact” tone of voice.
As the overall leader called me to apologize, I explained to him that it did not faze me. Why not? I realize that, to every situation, there is a right way and w wrong way to handle things. She handled things the exact opposite way that it should have been. Her character really shined through in that situation, which made me realize the type of leader she is.
In MLM, we have the same things happen a lot. We have people calling to us struggling, often times blaming everything but themselves for their problems. We are human and have clashes with others in the company and even within our own organizations. The way we handle ourselves as Network Marketing leaders is knowing how to handle those situation. By acting with wisdom and tact we can prevent negative attitudes from becoming viral within our organization.
Integrity and Knowing the Right And Wrong are two important skills we should all develop in building our MLM and Network Marketing organizations. After all, as leaders, our actions speak loud and are often followed.
